LET'S PRAY MORE EARNESTLY

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke 22:44. We are imitaters of Christ. If Christ prayed when he was in anguish then we must do same in times of tribulations and persecutions. The Bible says He PRAYED MORE EARNESTLY. To act with earnest means to be sincere, serious, purposeful, and determined. Please let's pray with all seriousness, aggression, and strength in times like this. Jesus could have prayed with the disciples but he decided to pray alone. It tells me that we should not wait till there are church programs before we pray. There is the need to allocate time to pray privately like never before especially in a time where COVID 19 is making it impossible for the church to meet. Let's pray for the Lord to cause COVID 19 to stop spreading. We pray that no soul should be lost to COVID 19 again. May the Lord miraculously provide preventive medications to curtail this deadly disease. May we have a good

TURN TO GOD IN YOUR AFFLICTION

Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction. Job 36:21 EXPOSITION We have come to a point in time where a certain school of thought believes that the righteous should not suffer affliction. With this in mind, lots of Christians have no patience to wait upon the Lord when things do not go as expected. We want a quick fix. Let's not forget that the Bible says "for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again..." Yes, there is going to be a time in life the righteous shall fall. On this journey of living for Christ, let's not be quick to turn to evil in difficult times. When the odds are against us, let's remember that "weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. We are living in a world that all manner of solutions are being offered to our problems and if one does not draw closer to God, it will be difficult distinguishing between godly and ungodly solutions. Let's be grounded in the Lord in order not

DON'T BE A SPECTATOR, RENDER A SERVICE

My former Assembly (C. O. P-Emmanuel Assembly, Suhum) have a slogan that goes "Emmanuel! Get Involved!" The church was communicating to the members to be part of everything that the church does. Thus, each person has a role to play to make the church the best place for the saints. I live this slogan in my education, employment, and in the church and it has brought me no regret. How can one get involved in something? Passion drives involvement. You have got not to look at what someone is doing or not doing before you get involved. Get involved with the ultimate aim that whatever contributions you render is onto the Lord. With this in mind you wont give room for idleness. To talk about the church as an institution, let's consider it as the symbol of heaven on earth, the kingdom of God on earth where the Kings, Queens and The Royals of God gather. The church as individuals refer to you and me. As Kings, Queens and royals of God, are you involved in the activities in God'

DO YOU KNOW GOD?

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Titus 1:15-16 NIV Knowing God is not a matter of telling people how you love him but it's about how your actions communicate to the world about God. Just as faith without works is dead, so also claiming to know God but living your life otherwise is self deception that leads to nothing but death. Such people are unfit for doing anything good. Some are in the house of God but their minds and conscience are heavily corrupted. They deny God by their actions. The world cannot see God through them. May the Lord have mercy. The one who knows God walks in step with God. It's my prayer that we shall be pure for everything about us to be pure. By so doing we shall be fit for good works in the house of the
