BUILD YOURSELF UP IN THE FAITH

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21 NIV EXPOSITION The Christian walk is characterized with lots of missiles thrown from the camp of the enemy at any point in time. Think about what happened to Job and the other great servants of God. Their faith was tested on many occasions. The apostles for instance, were chained, imprisoned, and flogged but because their faith was firmly built on the ROCK, they never gave up. Job, the Bible says never sinned against God in all his difficulties. To build our faith, we need to be connected with the Holy Spirit who will teach, remind, direct, rebuke, and comfort us in the good and bad times. We ought to fast and pray in the Spirit of God to be in tune with God as we build our faith May God's love and mercy be your portion as you take steps to build up your fa

HOW DOES GOD MEASURE LIFE?

Then he said, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own." Luke 12:15 NLT EXPOSITION We live in a day where corrupt, wicked and evil practices are widespread all in the name of accumulating wealth. Society today embrace the rich regardless of how they made their wealth. God is not against the rich, He is not against living a good life. He is against using questionable means to make it in life. Living good or being rich at the expense of others doesn't please God. He doesn't measure our lives based on how much we have but how well we have used what we have to solve problems and to help others. Let's not live like the rich man whose land yielded an abundant harvest, stored the surplus grain and said to himself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepare

WHERE IS MY NAME WRITTEN?

"Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15 NIV EXPOSITION Are you in the good books of God or in his bad books. Let's interrogate ourselves if our way of life so far pleases the Lord. If God is pleased with our choices in life, then we are hopeful of eternal joy otherwise eternal destruction awaits us. "...The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear." Matthew 13:40-43 NIV God forgive us our iniquities and straighten our ways before you. May our names be found in the book of life for us to shine in your Kingdom. May the bless his word and may he bless you as well. ROKANSAH

HIS WORD MAKES US PURE

"How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands." Psalm 119:9-10 NIV One of the challenges of being young is how to overcome the numerous pleasures of the world. The Christian becomes contaminated whenever they align themselves with what the world has to offer. In the face of the above challenge, the Psalmist asked, how could he stay pure in his youthful days? There is no other means we can be pure except when we live according to the word of God and seek him with all our heart. "Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, Life is not pleasant anymore." Ecclesiastes 12:1 NLT. May the Lord bless His word and may he bless you as well. ROKANSAH

ACT AS GOD WOULD

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11 NIV Exposition As sons of God, our daily life in speech and conduct must be the one inspired by God. We have no other life to live except the one lived to please Him. In view of that, whatever word that comes from our mouth should be the very words of God. "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen", Eph 4:29. We need to also speak fruitful words into our own life. Just as God called into being the things that were not as if they were, you can also call into being your healing, financial breakthrough, marriage, business, etc by faith backed by action and the Lord will be attent

LET'S PRAY MORE EARNESTLY

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke 22:44. We are imitaters of Christ. If Christ prayed when he was in anguish then we must do same in times of tribulations and persecutions. The Bible says He PRAYED MORE EARNESTLY. To act with earnest means to be sincere, serious, purposeful, and determined. Please let's pray with all seriousness, aggression, and strength in times like this. Jesus could have prayed with the disciples but he decided to pray alone. It tells me that we should not wait till there are church programs before we pray. There is the need to allocate time to pray privately like never before especially in a time where COVID 19 is making it impossible for the church to meet. Let's pray for the Lord to cause COVID 19 to stop spreading. We pray that no soul should be lost to COVID 19 again. May the Lord miraculously provide preventive medications to curtail this deadly disease. May we have a good

TURN TO GOD IN YOUR AFFLICTION

Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction. Job 36:21 EXPOSITION We have come to a point in time where a certain school of thought believes that the righteous should not suffer affliction. With this in mind, lots of Christians have no patience to wait upon the Lord when things do not go as expected. We want a quick fix. Let's not forget that the Bible says "for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again..." Yes, there is going to be a time in life the righteous shall fall. On this journey of living for Christ, let's not be quick to turn to evil in difficult times. When the odds are against us, let's remember that "weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. We are living in a world that all manner of solutions are being offered to our problems and if one does not draw closer to God, it will be difficult distinguishing between godly and ungodly solutions. Let's be grounded in the Lord in order not

DON'T BE A SPECTATOR, RENDER A SERVICE

My former Assembly (C. O. P-Emmanuel Assembly, Suhum) have a slogan that goes "Emmanuel! Get Involved!" The church was communicating to the members to be part of everything that the church does. Thus, each person has a role to play to make the church the best place for the saints. I live this slogan in my education, employment, and in the church and it has brought me no regret. How can one get involved in something? Passion drives involvement. You have got not to look at what someone is doing or not doing before you get involved. Get involved with the ultimate aim that whatever contributions you render is onto the Lord. With this in mind you wont give room for idleness. To talk about the church as an institution, let's consider it as the symbol of heaven on earth, the kingdom of God on earth where the Kings, Queens and The Royals of God gather. The church as individuals refer to you and me. As Kings, Queens and royals of God, are you involved in the activities in God'

DO YOU KNOW GOD?

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Titus 1:15-16 NIV Knowing God is not a matter of telling people how you love him but it's about how your actions communicate to the world about God. Just as faith without works is dead, so also claiming to know God but living your life otherwise is self deception that leads to nothing but death. Such people are unfit for doing anything good. Some are in the house of God but their minds and conscience are heavily corrupted. They deny God by their actions. The world cannot see God through them. May the Lord have mercy. The one who knows God walks in step with God. It's my prayer that we shall be pure for everything about us to be pure. By so doing we shall be fit for good works in the house of the

THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE SPREAD OF THE WORD

We are living in a generation where God has made it easy to spread his word across the world. Technology has come to aid the spread of the gospel. I have had an engagement with people who think social media platforms are evil and are inspired by the devil to take captive many souls. Personally, I do not think so. Creativity and innovation come from God. The devil doesn't create or innovate but he destroys what has been created by God. Do you know the devil quoted the bible wrongly to tempt Jesus? I mean whatever good thing God has made, the devil finds one way or the other to make it look bad. He did it to the word of God against Jesus and to man against God so it should not be a surprise if the devil tries to make social media look unattractive to Christians.  With the aid of social media today, it doesn't cost as much as it cost the early Apostles to spread the word. Let's utilize all the channels available to let the world know about Christ and his love. God created thes

LOVE COVERS OVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS

1 Peter 4:8 says, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins".  Inferring from this scripture, one can argue that hatred exposes man to a multitude of sin which leads to the destruction of the soul. The simple way to fulfill the entire law of God is seen in Galatians 5:14, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself." You won't think evil for the one you love. Rather, you would want them to excel in whatever they do so long as it pleases God. Romans 13:8 says "Therefore let no debt remain outstanding except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."  Keep loving, no hatred, if whoever loves one another fulfills the entire law then whoever hates breaks the entire law. Never finish paying the debt of love. I owe you love! ROKANSAH 0243445978

UNLEASH MISSILES IN YOUR SILENCE

In the silence of our hearts, we speak thunder and strike the enemy with lightening for the prayer of the righteous man is very effective and alive. As dedicated Christians, we can pray always all day irrespective of the environment. Whilst selent, meditate on the word, pray in your mind and in your heart. We can do this from our house to the bus stop, the bus stop to the office and during our stay in the office or the various places we find ourselves during the day. When you are in tune with God, he converts your silence prayer and meditation into thunder and lightening that the enemy cannot stand. He builds around you walls of fire that the devil and his team cannot enter your territory. Make this a part of your prayer life. May the Lord answer our prayers when we call on him.

YOU DESERVE MY PRAISE

My heart is filled with joy.  I can feel the overflow of His glory, Oh! but for your mercy, Thousands of psalms and hymns, I sing in my heart. My lips will keep singing your praise, I will talk about your glory, When I am down you lift me up, when I weep you wipe off my tears, My fears tremble in your presence When sin takes me away from your presence Your mercies bring me back to you. But for your grace...

EXAMINE YOURSELF TO SEE WHETHER YOU ARE IN THE FAITH

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ is in you, unless, of course you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5. EXPOSITION I once read a book titled "The unexamined life is not worth living." There must be a standard with which every rational being should examine their lives. The stardard with which the Christian must examine his life is the Gospel. Our walk with Jesus is a daily activity. This means that we have an obligation to acknowledge Christ our saviour in our decisions no matter the form or the size they may take. Living each day to the glory of God is the surest way to inform us that we are really in the faith. When we aspire to live this way then we can be sure Christ is indeed in us who is our hope of glory. 2 Corinthians 13:8 says, 'For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.' The truth is the gospel and the gospel is Christ. We can only remain in the faith when we act in

BE AHEAD OF THE DEVIL BUT NOT JESUS

Be ahead of the devil but not Jesus. The devil will mislead you when he is ahead of you but Jesus will guide you to a successful destination. The devil wants to see you fall but Jesus' interest in you is to lift you up when you fall, to carry your load when your neck is breaking, to wash your sins with his holy blood, to purchase you from death to eternal life and above all to make you joint heir in the kingdom of God. Is that not wonderful?  May you be led by Jesus now and forever. God Bless you
