MAY THE LORD ESTABLISH US

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17 NIV Who can curse the one the Lord has favoured? Who can take away from him what the Lord has given him? God's establishment is everlasting. His favour endures forever. Note that "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain." Our efforts will yield no fruit if we are not favoured by God whose effort is unlimited. Let's commit each step of our lives into the hands of the One whose favour rests on us and the One who establishes the work of our hand. Amen! EXAMINE YOURSELF IF CHRIST IS IN YOU

5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ is in you, unless, of course you fail the test? 2 Cor 13:5. Our walk with Jesus is a daily activity. This means we have an obligation to acknowledge Christ our saviour in our decisions no matter the form or size they may take. Living each day to the glory of God is the surest way to inform us that we are really in the faith. Do you examine your actions against the gospel? To want extent have you involved Christ in your life? Would Christ speak, or act the way you do? We have a duty to test whatever we do with the faith. 2 Cor 13:8 says, 'For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth'. The truth is the gospel and the gospel is Christ. We can only remain in the faith when we act in line with the truth. Nothing more or less. We fail the test whenever we act contrary to the truth. GOD WILL CONTINUE TO DELIVER US

9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us. 2 Cor. 1:9-10. There came that moment when suddenly something unexpected happened when we thought that would define the end of the journey. Remember that job lost, the unfavorable doctor's report, the relationship that hit the rock, when you lost that person who was dear to you, the persecutions and the afflictions which came your way. As believers, we do not have any strength of our own to deliver us from such situations but of God. Whatever can not overcome God can not overcome us either so long us our bodies are the residence of the Holy Spirit. IT PAYS TO WAIT FOR THE LORD

Wait for the Lord ; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord . Psalm 27:14 NIV Between now and our appointed time requires a great deal of waiting. That's, waiting for the Lord to direct our paths to bring us to the fulfilment of His purpose for our lives. We were created for a purpose and the only one who can drive us towards that is the Creator hence, it pays to wait for him to work things out for us. I must admit that waiting is not an easy venture. Imagine yourself in a long queue to see your physician when you're in pains? At that moment you exercise patience and control your emotions for you know it will definitely get to your turn. Family of believers, as we wait for the Lord to fulfill his promise, let's be patient and strong and wait in prayer, worship and in the singing of psalms and hymns for we shall surely see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. PUT YOUR GIFT INTO EFFECTIVE USE

"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you". 1 Timothy 4:13-14 Everyone has great deposit of gift from the Lord in them. Sadly, few of us are aware of this and even those who are aware, rarely put their gift into use. One thing we should realise is that, God gives us his gifts to work with them but not to leave them idle. Mineral deposits like gold is a gift from God but until it's mined, refined and processed into specific products or items, they serve no human needs. God has placed in us abundance of spiritual and physical gifts, the onus is on us to work with them for the benefit of ourselves, the church, and society at large. One progresses spiritually and physically when they put their gifts into diligent and effective use. Let's now devote ourselves to put into use any gift the Lord has deposited

WHOSE APPROVAL DO YOU SEEK?

"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ". Galatians 1:10 Niv Many of us put up the best behaviour, morally accepted way of life when all eyes are watching. We want to please friends, opinion leaders, partners, pastors, etc. Is it not sad that we do the right things when all eyes are watching but the wrong things in our closet where only God, the one who judges our actions with speed and finality sees? Scrutinize your actions to see if you're living to seek man's approval or that of God. If you still live your life to please man and to seek people's approval then you are not yet a servant of Christ! God help us to live to seek your approval and to please you in all we do. Amen. DO NOT RELENT; STEP UP THE PACE

"You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you". Galatians 5:7-8 NIV Many at times, the zeal with which we first believed the gospel grows cold as the days go by. We tend to focus on achieving our personal desires and aspirations to the neglect of the gospel. It also happens that some false teachers adulterate us with their false teachings. The more we are inclined to the scenarios above the more we grow cold and we sacrifice our salvation for eternal destruction. Brethren, leave no room for false teachings or any personal aspirations which will sway you from the TRUTH. Run the race even better now than you first started because the time is near. Romans 13:11 put it this way, " And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed". WE ARE SET FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery". Galatians 5:1 NIV God created many things but it's man alone who he created in his likeness. This shows how great and deep God's love, purpose, and plans are for man. Unfortunately, the devil sensed what the Lord has for mankind so he deceived man to sin knowing very well when one becomes rebellious against God's instructions they are cut off from his presence. Sin ruled the hearts of men and we became it's slaves. We ate, walked, breathed, thought and lived sin. When the Lord saw how rude sin was as a slave master. How it was leading many into destruction, how unsympathetic and wicked it was, He remembered his unfailing love and compassion for man. He sent Jesus Christ to come and set us free from the bondage of sin. Now we have our liberty. Sin has no power over us. There is no need to even think about the past, present, and

WHO (WHAT) ARE YOU SLAVE TO?

"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?". Romans 6:16 NIV EXPOSITION A slave receives instructions from his master and he is obliged to obey them. No matter your status in life, you are a slave. One is a slave to who (what) they obey, respect, or hold allegiance to. The question is, as a slave who is your master? Is it righteousness that leads to eternal life or sin that leads to eternal destruction? A critical examination of the above question will let you know where you are heading to. Some of us are slaves to the beauty and pleasures of the world. Their wealth, beauty, desires of the flesh, and status in life direct their thought and path. I thank God that, though we used to be slaves to sin, we have come to obey from our heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed our allegiance. We have

BE LED BY THE SPIRIT

"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other". Galatians 5:24-26 NIV Those of us in Christ have no life of our own except the life of Christ we receive through our faith in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ . We are then expected to demonstrate the nature of Christ in us by keeping in step with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit never mislead, He leads us into all truth and righteousness, he gives us revelation about the future and helps us to overcome all complications life brings. He also creates in us the heart to love one another just us God loves us through His son Jesus. Won't you rather be led by the Holy Spirit? GOD! CONSIDER THEIR THREATS

Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29‭-‬30 NIV The Bible says after Peter and John were released from the Sanhedrin, they went back to their own people and gave an account of what happened to them. They then raised their voices together and prayed. The above text is excerpt of their prayers. The apostles spoke the word boldly after they prayed. What is threatening your ministry, life, health, education, profession, family, and anything connected to you? Are you being threatened by that chronic disease, unemployment, persecution, or death? Let's join the apostles in prayer as we tell God to consider any threat against us and enable us to overcome them boldly. WHEN WE DRAW NEAR TO JESUS...

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 NIV Peter and John were ordinary unschooled men but when they were interrogated in the Sanhedrin by the elders for using the name of Jesus to heal a lame man, they spoke courageously. They were filled with the Holy Spirit because they had been with Jesus. The Holy Spirit gave them word, he's our advocate. When you're brought before men, do not think of what to say for the Holy Spirit will speak through you. When we draw near to Jesus, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. At this point, our status in life doesn't matter, the Holy Spirit uses us as he determines to the astonishment of the world. Draw near to Jesus and be filled with the Holy Spirit. THE LORD OUR REFUGE

" But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord ; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety".Psalm 141:8-10 Refuge can be defined as the state of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or difficulty or a place or situation providing safety or shelter. Now the Lord being our refuge means in him we are safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, difficulty and  every bad situation. God is so much concerned about your security and when you fix your eyes on him, making him the superior of your life, the decision maker and the director of your path, you will not strike your foot against the stone. You will not fall into the net the enemy set for you. You will pass by safely whilst you watch the enemy fall in their own net, hallelujah! LEARNING TO BE CONTENT IN EVERY SITUATION

"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength". Philippians 4:12-13 The secret to be content in every situation with great joy and peace is Christ. If you are aware that in Christ you have been blessed with all the heavenly blessings required for your physical and spiritual survival, you will always learn to draw your strength from him in every situation. Apostle Paul learned to live above his situation because his life hinged on Jesus (the gospel). Is the Lord only good when things go our way? Is he bad, wicked, uncaring, heartless when situations do not work out according to plan, we fall sick or run out of basic needs in life? Don't let your situation dictate how you serve or think of God rather let God dictate how you treat your situations through Christ

ASK FOR HIS MASTER PLAN

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3 NIV We wake up with many expectations. Expectations about education, marriage, relationship, business network, profession and what have you. Pause a moment, ask yourself if your expectations are in sync with God's plan for your life? We have got the advocator, Jesus Christ, through whom all things have been made for us including everything you expect in life. He has the legal right and the spiritual authority of the master plan for your life. We can achieve nothing without him. "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Prov 19:21. If your expectations are not situated in the plans of God, you're only chasing after the wind. DO NOT LOOK BACK

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, Philippians 3:13 NIV There are two things we see when we look back; past failures and successes. Past success may breed complacency whilst past failures may breed pains. These are not necessary conditions for our present and future development. The only thing we must carry from the past to the present is the lesson we learn from our experience with the past. Lot and his wife were instructed not to look back when fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah, his wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt. Let's not be complacent with what we have achieved so far nor be in pain for what has eluded us. WE ARE THE SONS OF GOD

Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba , Father.” Galatians 4:6 NIV The sons of God must be  possessed by one spirit, the Holy Spirit who is the spirit of Truth. God has brought the same spirit (not a lesser spirit) who was with Jesus into our hearts so that we will have authority and dominion on earth just as Jesus had. CHOSEN TO BE FRUITFUL

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16 NIV We have been chosen by God through Christ to bear fruit in our generation. We are to bear fruit that will last, fruit that's essential to our spiritual growth, society and physical development. May the Lord take away anything that's inimical to your ability to be fruitful. AT THE APPOINTED TIME

You might mean nothing to many today but at the appointed time, you will mean a lot to all. Haven't you heard of the rejected stone becoming the cornerstone for the builders? You might be useless somewhere to someone but trust me, you are one of the useful products of God. Whatever God created was good and you are one of those He created so you are good. As such, draw your inspiration from God, speak to him on daily bases. When devastated, He is there to comfort you. Keep your trust in him. The triumphant never cease to trust the Lord no matter the trial. Think about Abraham, Joseph, Job, etc. ROK ANSAH
