THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS TO THE BELIEVER 2

He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. Mark 8:31. Talking about the significance of the message of the cross to us who have believed, let's look at the pains and shame Jesus went through for our righteousness sake. Jesus predicted his death, the torture he would go through and his resurrection to his disciples. Isaiah 53:3-4a says, "He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering." Let's ask ourselves, what did Jesus do wrong to go through all these pains? Was it wrong for him to heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons? The only man who lived without sin yet he was killed like a thief, a murderer, a fornicator,

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS TO THE BELIEVER

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18. Let's look at the death and resurrection of Christ and it's significance to us as the chosen generation of God. Most religions have not come to terms with the fact that Jesus came, died and resurrected. In fact, some are still waiting for the coming of the Messiah. It is nuisance to them to hear believers talk about it. Glory be to God that to us who are being saved, the message about our saviour, from his birth to death and resurrection is the POWER OF GOD. HALELLUJAH. The power that enables us overcome sin, principalities, darkness, weakness, etc. May you receive all the power that comes with the message of the cross in Jesus' name. GOD WITH US

The difficulty of the day comes without God's strength. The curses of the day comes without his blessings. What the enemy aims to destroy, God aims to put up. No one walks with God and ends in failure but whoever walks with him goes through difficulties. The difficulties are not meant to destroy us; they are meant for the manifestation of his glory in us at the appointed time. God doesn't create the difficulties, they are created by the forces of the world. The more we get closer to God, the more these forces try to pull us from him. In our difficulties, God never leaves us. We are always held by his righteous right hand to go through all the pains and shame. God hasn't left you so don't leave him no "matter the matter." BEHIND THE VISIBLE

If you have a big mouth it doesn't mean you can speak well, If you have a big head it doesn't mean you cant think well, If you have long legs it doesn't mean you can walk/run fast, A good appearance doesn't guarantee a good character. Always dig for what's behind the visible. We can easily make decisions base on what we see But the sustainability of that decision lies in what's behind the visible ROK ANSAH 26.07.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com

THE QUALITIES OF A GOOD CHURCH LEADER

An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. Titus 1:6-9 NIV Every organisation needs good leadership to thrive. The church is not an exception. For the physical and spiritual growth of the church, there's always the need for our leaders to possess in an increase measure the qualities enumerated in the scriptures above. At a point, we are all in one way or the other leaders of the church. The ministry leaders and their executives, the ushers, the choristers,

WHAT ARE YOU CONSIDERING LOSS FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST?

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8. Apostle Paul was an ardent believer of the law. But when he encountered Jesus, he realised that the law could not save but the blood of Jesus. That is the surpassing worth of knowledge he gained. He let go his old being and embraced Christ for the renewal of his body, spirit and soul. Somethings must be considered gabbage in your life before you can please Christ. Luke 9:23 says, ''Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me''. Let's deny ourselves the lust and pleasures of the world for the sake of our encounter with Christ Jesus which is the foundation of our salvation. BEWARE OF TURNING TO EVIL

Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction. Job 36:21. If you do not draw closer to God, you will find it extremely difficult to distinguish between what is good and evil. The world has become sophisticated that we are gradually embracing what years ago wouldn't be tolerated. Almost every shameful act is getting the endorsement of the international community.  The flesh is dictating the pace. Many Christians today may choose evil means to enrich or get themselves out of difficult situations rathar than waiting upon the Lord to deliver them with his MIGHTY HANDS. Let's BEWARE as christians of how canny the devil is in order not to follow the crowd. God has immeasurable reward for those who endure affliction for his name sake. Even in the affliction, he's with us to the end. Probably, you're having countless problems, from health complications to financial insufficiency, indebtedness, rejection and depression. This morning God says "Many ar

PRAY WITH REVERENT SUBMISSION

During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up PRAYERS and PETITIONS with FERVENT CRIES and TEARS to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of REVERENT SUBMISSION. Hebrews 5:7 We are still looking at how Jesus composed himself when he offered prayers to God whilst on earth. He petitioned God through prayers with fervent cries and tears knowing it's God alone who could save him. Jesus didn't go out there telling people his problems and asking them to keep him in prayers. He prayed himself. We can ask people to keep us in prayers but we have the greatest responsibility to keep ourselves in prayers. Heaven heard Jesus' prayers because of his reverent  submission. He submitted to the authority of God with all respect. He prayed with no doubt in his mind. Respect the authority of God in prayers by believing that he hears you and he will deliver according to his will when you pray. We can also pray just as Jesus did. ROK ANSAH 21.03.17 w

PRAY EARNESTLY WHEN IN ANGUISH

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke 22:44. We are imitaters of Christ. If Christ prayed when he was in anguish then we must do same in times of tribulations and persecutions. The bible says He PRAYED MORE EARNESTLY. To act with earnest means to be sincere, serious, purposeful, and determined. Please let's pray with all seriousness, aggression, and strength. Jesus could have prayed with the disciples but he decided to pray alone. It tells me that we should not always wait till there are church programs before we pray. There is the need to allocate time to pray privately like never before. Be sincere, serious, purposeful and determined when praying. Have a good time with God through prayers. Time spent in prayer is never wasted. God bless you. ROK ANSAH 20.03.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com www.facebook.com/rkansah Twitter: @ rokansah

SPEAK LIKE JESUS

Do not let any unwholesome (corrupt) talk (word) come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph 4:29. How beneficial is your speech to the people around you? Do you utter any word just because you are angry, hungry, poor, rich, sick or happy? As servants of Christ, we are obliged to let the nature of Christ be revealed in all aspect of our lives including our speech. We must endeavour to speak like Jesus. No corrupt word proceeded from the mouth of Jesus in his days on earth. Offer constructive criticism, rebuke with God's wisdom. There is coming a day that we shall account for our utterances. Matthew 12:36-37 says, ''I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." ROK ANSAH 18.03.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com www.facebook.com

THIS SICKNESS WILL NOT END IN DEATH

So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”  When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” John 11:3‭-‬4 NIV When Lazarus found himself on the sick bed and Jesus was informed about it, he responded, "this sickness will not end in death. In the eyes of men Lazarus died but to Jesus, he slept for just four days. I do not know the kind of ailment you're suffering from. Is it hepatitis, typhoid, AIDS, cancer, or any form of chronic disease? Jesus is telling you today, "that sickness will not end in death, it's for God's glory so that his name will be glorified." Jesus has been given the power above all principalities, demons, witchcraft, and sickness. Trust the ever powerful Jesus that he has healed you. Nothing can curtail your life. The Bible says Jesus wept when he saw where Lazarus has been laid. Can you imagine Jesus weeping because

GATHER THE PIECES

When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”  So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. John 6:12‭-‬13 NIV Why would Jesus be concerned about the left over pieces of bread and fish after he had fed over 5000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish? He had the power to replicate same miracle the next moment but he ensured that the left over would not be wasted. In the eyes of God and in his kingdom, there's no wastage. He has respect for everything even the neglected things in the eyes of men. If Jesus was concerned about the left over food then you can feel good that he has you at heart and anything around you. Even when men turn you down, when they belittle you and you're seen as left over be rest assured that Jesus has you at heart. Be in the circles of Christ Jesus for he has instructed the Holy Spirit to

GOD IS PLEASED WITH YOU WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17 NIV The above scripture gives an account of what happened after the baptism of Jesus Christ. God made it known to the world how he loves Jesus and is pleased with him. The Bible says, as many as believe in Jesus are given the right to become the children of God. Jesus Christ is born of the spirit and we are also born of the same spirit when we believe in him. "If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God." 1 John 4:15 NIV. Would God live in an environment he's not pleased with? Certainly no! Because you have become a child of God through Jesus, God always calls your name and say "this is my child whom I love, in him I'm well pleased." GO AND SAVE THE LOST SOULS

6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Isreal. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ''The Kingdom of heaven has come near''. Mat 10:6-7. Yesterday we looked at the various signs informing us about the END TIME. As Christians what do we have to do in the face of these signs? We have to, 1. Live holy and godly lives as we look forward to the day of God (2 Pet 3:11-12) and 2. Go to the lost sheep of the world to tell them ''the kingdom of heaven has come near'' (Matt 10:6-7). Let's pray for the entire world for God is pleased to see all people saved and to come to the knowledge of truth (1 Tim 2:1-4). Remember God  does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. He is pleased when they turn from their deadly ways and live (Ezekiel 18:23). Jesus said in John 14:2 that, ''My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?''. The Heaven's gate is open to rece

THE END TIME SIGNS

God doesn't want to surprise us with the second coming of Jesus Christ. As a result, he has made known in his word the occurrence of some events which should inform us of the nearness of the second coming of our savior. The signs of the end time is everywhere now and we must take note of them. 1. Cant you see, hear, or sense the widespread insecurity, deception, counterfeit miracles and the false prophets? 2. We are living in terrible times (2 Tim 3:1), 2. We hear wars and rumours of wars each day (Mat 24:6), 3. There is farmine, earth quake and nations rising against nations (Mat 24:7), 4. Today, we have false religious systems pretending to be godly but denying God's power (2Tim 3:5), 5. People are not putting up to sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:3) 6. People are turning away from the truth to myths (2 Tim 4:4), 7.There is cry for peace and safety all over the world (1Thes 5:3), 8. The devil has planted hypocrites in the church (Mat 13:25-30), 9. The future looks extreme

DO IT AS IF YOU'RE DOING IT FOR GOD

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart , as working for the Lord, not your masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Col 3:23-24. Has someone placed something under your care? What attitude do you have in taking care of things under your care? Do you have the "it's not mine so I don't care attitude?" Remember a deligent service is a means to worshipping God. Whatever is around you is under your care. Don't be like Cain who never knew he was to keep his brother's life and had to question God "am I my brother's keeper?" due to the fact that his responsibility towards his brother was not expressly stated. Let's not be careless about what is around us, whether humans, animals, trees, or the environment as a whole. The fact that it is not stated expressly that we have a responsibility towards them doesn't mean we won't account for them

DON'T BE A SPECTATOR; RENDER A SERVICE

My former assembly (C. O. P-Emmanuel Assembly, Suhum) has a slogan that goes "Emmanuel! Get Involved". The church was communicating to the members to be part of everything that the church does. Thus in the church each person has a role to play to make it the best place for the saints. I live this slogan in my education, employment, and in the the church and it has brought me no regret. How can one get involved in something? Passion drives involvement. You have got not to look at what someone is doing or not doing before you get involved. Get involved with the ultimate aim that whatever contributions you render is onto the Lord. With this in mind you wont give room for idleness. To talk about the church as an institution, let's consider it as the symbol of heaven on earth, the kingdom of God on earth where the Kings, Queens and The Royals of God gather. The church as individuals refer to you and I. As Kings, Queens and royals of God, are you involved in the activities in

WHOEVER FEARS THE LORD HAS A SECURE FORTRESS

26 Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. 27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from snares of death. Prov 14:26-27. The fear of the LORD comes with enormous gains which benefit our bodies, souls n our offspring. If we fear the LORD we gain a secure fortress. A Fortress can be said to be a place of exceptional security and stronghold. This exceptional security  and stronghold is provided by GOD to the extent that the devil dare not enter your territory. The fortress we gain through the FEAR OF THE LORD becomes the refuge for our children and their children....that's the generational effect of fearing the LORD. The fear of the LORD prolongs our lives and also gives us eternal life. May the Lord keep his fear in our hearts. Amen! KEEP THE WORD AND BE WISE

Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. Psalm 119:98-100 NIV The WORD will make you stand out. The Word of God is just the mind of God. The more you study it the more you discover the mind of God. Note that God's mind is full of wisdom, understanding, insight, foresight, and knowledge. May we dedicate our time to the study of the WORD (mind) of God so that we shall be wiser than our enemies, and even gain more insight and understanding than our predecessors. GOD WILL COME DOWN FOR YOUR RESCUE IN YOUR DISTRESS

7 The Lord said, 'I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have comei down to rescue them and bring them up out of that land into a spacious land flowing with milk and honey--the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Exo 3:7-8. When we are faced with unpleasant situations and we cry out to God, he hears us since he is concerned with the plight of his children. After hearing us, he comes down for our rescue. God promised to  give us  expected end, He is leading us to the Land flowing with milk and honey. Note that this land is not empty, we  must overpower it's occupants through the power of God gained through fasting, prayers, and observing his statutes. God has seen the misery that's giving you a sleepless night and he will come down for your rescue in Jesus' name. Amen. ROK ANSAH 01.03.17 www.rokansah.blogsp
