BE ZEALOUS FOR GOD

9 ...and the word of the LORD came to him: "What are you doing here?' 10 He replied: 'I have been zealous for God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your alters, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too". 1 Kings 19:9-10.                    

Can you confidently tell God you have been zealous for him in spite of persecutions, the desire of the flesh, financial difficulties, unemployment, etc? Elijah, a prophet of God was being persecuted, Jezebel wanted to take his life so he fled to Horeb, the mountain of God where he hid himself in a cave. Brethren, in times of challenges where do you run to? Do you turn your back to God or you lift up your eyes to him?

As Christians, we shall face many challenges for it's written, "In fact, anyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ will be persecuted", 2 Tim 3:12. Therefore, when persecution comes, we should acknowledge that it's part of our walk with Christ.

The devil will turn our own flesh as well as the world against us. In all of them, let's be zealous, put on the armor of faith, go to the mountain of God and pray.

If your friends and family turn against God, if they are killed for following God, if you are the only one left to serve God, I urge you to serve him without fear. Do not fear the one who can only kill the body and not the soul. Live for Christ! Be zealous for God! Amen.
