WHO (WHAT) ARE YOU SLAVE TO?

"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?". Romans 6:16 NIV

EXPOSITION

A slave receives instructions from his master and he is obliged to obey them. No matter your status in life, you are a slave. One is a slave to who (what) they obey, respect, or hold allegiance to.

The question is, as a slave who is your master? Is it righteousness that leads to eternal life or sin that leads to eternal destruction? A critical examination of the above question will let you know where you are heading to.

Some of us are slaves to the beauty and pleasures of the world. Their wealth, beauty, desires of the flesh, and status in life direct their thought and path.
I thank God that, though we used to be slaves to sin, we have come to obey from our heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed our allegiance. We have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
