THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS TO THE BELIEVER 2

He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. Mark 8:31. Talking about the significance of the message of the cross to us who have believed, let's look at the pains and shame Jesus went through for our righteousness sake. Jesus predicted his death, the torture he would go through and his resurrection to his disciples. Isaiah 53:3-4a says, "He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces. He was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering." Let's ask ourselves, what did Jesus do wrong to go through all these pains? Was it wrong for him to heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons? The only man who lived without sin yet he was killed like a thief, a murderer, a fornicator,...

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS TO THE BELIEVER

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18. Let's look at the death and resurrection of Christ and it's significance to us as the chosen generation of God. Most religions have not come to terms with the fact that Jesus came, died and resurrected. In fact, some are still waiting for the coming of the Messiah. It is nuisance to them to hear believers talk about it. Glory be to God that to us who are being saved, the message about our saviour, from his birth to death and resurrection is the POWER OF GOD. HALELLUJAH. The power that enables us overcome sin, principalities, darkness, weakness, etc. May you receive all the power that comes with the message of the cross in Jesus' name. GOD WITH US

The difficulty of the day comes without God's strength. The curses of the day comes without his blessings. What the enemy aims to destroy, God aims to put up. No one walks with God and ends in failure but whoever walks with him goes through difficulties. The difficulties are not meant to destroy us; they are meant for the manifestation of his glory in us at the appointed time. God doesn't create the difficulties, they are created by the forces of the world. The more we get closer to God, the more these forces try to pull us from him. In our difficulties, God never leaves us. We are always held by his righteous right hand to go through all the pains and shame. God hasn't left you so don't leave him no "matter the matter." BEHIND THE VISIBLE

If you have a big mouth it doesn't mean you can speak well, If you have a big head it doesn't mean you cant think well, If you have long legs it doesn't mean you can walk/run fast, A good appearance doesn't guarantee a good character. Always dig for what's behind the visible. We can easily make decisions base on what we see But the sustainability of that decision lies in what's behind the visible ROK ANSAH 26.07.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com

THE QUALITIES OF A GOOD CHURCH LEADER

An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. Titus 1:6-9 NIV Every organisation needs good leadership to thrive. The church is not an exception. For the physical and spiritual growth of the church, there's always the need for our leaders to possess in an increase measure the qualities enumerated in the scriptures above. At a point, we are all in one way or the other leaders of the church. The ministry leaders and their executives, the ushers, the chor...

WHAT ARE YOU CONSIDERING LOSS FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST?

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8. Apostle Paul was an ardent believer of the law. But when he encountered Jesus, he realised that the law could not save but the blood of Jesus. That is the surpassing worth of knowledge he gained. He let go his old being and embraced Christ for the renewal of his body, spirit and soul. Somethings must be considered gabbage in your life before you can please Christ. Luke 9:23 says, ''Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me''. Let's deny ourselves the lust and pleasures of the world for the sake of our encounter with Christ Jesus which is the foundation of our salvation. BEWARE OF TURNING TO EVIL

Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction. Job 36:21. If you do not draw closer to God, you will find it extremely difficult to distinguish between what is good and evil. The world has become sophisticated that we are gradually embracing what years ago wouldn't be tolerated. Almost every shameful act is getting the endorsement of the international community.  The flesh is dictating the pace. Many Christians today may choose evil means to enrich or get themselves out of difficult situations rathar than waiting upon the Lord to deliver them with his MIGHTY HANDS. Let's BEWARE as christians of how canny the devil is in order not to follow the crowd. God has immeasurable reward for those who endure affliction for his name sake. Even in the affliction, he's with us to the end. Probably, you're having countless problems, from health complications to financial insufficiency, indebtedness, rejection and depression. This morning God says "Many ar...

PRAY WITH REVERENT SUBMISSION

During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up PRAYERS and PETITIONS with FERVENT CRIES and TEARS to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of REVERENT SUBMISSION. Hebrews 5:7 We are still looking at how Jesus composed himself when he offered prayers to God whilst on earth. He petitioned God through prayers with fervent cries and tears knowing it's God alone who could save him. Jesus didn't go out there telling people his problems and asking them to keep him in prayers. He prayed himself. We can ask people to keep us in prayers but we have the greatest responsibility to keep ourselves in prayers. Heaven heard Jesus' prayers because of his reverent  submission. He submitted to the authority of God with all respect. He prayed with no doubt in his mind. Respect the authority of God in prayers by believing that he hears you and he will deliver according to his will when you pray. We can also pray just as Jesus did. ROK ANSAH 21.03.17 w...

PRAY EARNESTLY WHEN IN ANGUISH

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Luke 22:44. We are imitaters of Christ. If Christ prayed when he was in anguish then we must do same in times of tribulations and persecutions. The bible says He PRAYED MORE EARNESTLY. To act with earnest means to be sincere, serious, purposeful, and determined. Please let's pray with all seriousness, aggression, and strength. Jesus could have prayed with the disciples but he decided to pray alone. It tells me that we should not always wait till there are church programs before we pray. There is the need to allocate time to pray privately like never before. Be sincere, serious, purposeful and determined when praying. Have a good time with God through prayers. Time spent in prayer is never wasted. God bless you. ROK ANSAH 20.03.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com www.facebook.com/rkansah Twitter: @ rokansah

SPEAK LIKE JESUS

Do not let any unwholesome (corrupt) talk (word) come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph 4:29. How beneficial is your speech to the people around you? Do you utter any word just because you are angry, hungry, poor, rich, sick or happy? As servants of Christ, we are obliged to let the nature of Christ be revealed in all aspect of our lives including our speech. We must endeavour to speak like Jesus. No corrupt word proceeded from the mouth of Jesus in his days on earth. Offer constructive criticism, rebuke with God's wisdom. There is coming a day that we shall account for our utterances. Matthew 12:36-37 says, ''I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." ROK ANSAH 18.03.17 www.rokansah.blogspot.com www.facebook.com...
